Extractomatic: HFMA HealthCare Conference Postcard and Flier

These are two projects-a postcard and a flier- that Navatta Studios created for Extractomatic (https://extractomatic.com) as they attended the annual HFMA (Healthcare Management Financial Association) conference, located in Denver, CO in 2022.

This was a ‘two-pronged’ project, with one piece being a postcard which served as a lighter, simpler quick handout for conference attendees. The second piece was a more detailed, drawn-out deeper dive in the form of a flier. Together, they compromised a pointed but playful marketing and branding effort.

At the core of the visual storytelling is a character we call ‘Extracto’, a red robot that represents the Extractomatic software, who looks like a combination of Wall-E and a Roomba vacuum-but with multi-functional arms to interact with his environment. Additionally, for this project, there are key team members of the Extractomatic team along with role players at and within a hospital.

All together, they combine to tell the story of how Extractomatic and team can help hospitals get to the most important data when they need it most!

Tally And Mass: Before and After Ad

Here are two images-a before and after shot- created for Tally and Mass (https://www.tallymass.com/)for their SEO content service, Content Blast!

Austin, the CEO of Tally and Mass, was looking for a ‘before and after’ visual story/comic-style graphic that could serve the dual purpose of functioning as an online ad and visual explainer for how simply and powerfully Content Blast! operates.

The idea behind Content Blast! is that it can help you eliminate the guessing game of SEO and instead generate clear and precise search terms that lead to results.

For the visual, we focused on making the ‘Problem’ square representative of a typical, disengaged meeting (as one employee even watches a cat video!) where the leader is gung-ho but the team is ‘meh’. For the ‘Solution’ square, you see the same leader and team ‘lit up’ and engaged once the Content Blast! blaster has entered the scene and got to work!

Shaded Trails: Vegan Dog Treat Ad

This is an illustrated ad for a vegan dog treat company called Shaded Trails (https://www.shadedtrails.com).

When we worked with then- owner of the company, J.R. Starlin, he wanted some help bringing what made the product unique (obviously, a vegan product for dogs) to the forefront of the attention of those who are likely to buy this sort of dog treat (Vegans and dog owners who’s dogs have allergies).

We thought it would be fun to play on the fact that there are very small dogs (i.e. ankle height or so!) who eat animals that are ten times there size. Knowing that a 25-pound terrier (or for that matter, 50 25 pound terriers) couldn’t take down a cow in the wild-made us hone in a humorous angle to take with this ad!

Extractomatic Pitch Deck

We had the privilege to assist Extractomatic, a budding and successful startup company with headquarters located in Brentwood, TN (a suburb of Nashville) with taking their proprietary information and helping them craft a persuasive illustrated Pitch Deck.

This was a large project with over 20 fully-illustrated and designed Pitch Deck pages. Together, we created a visual narrative that grabs attention through the use of an intelligent and interactive character named Extracto and multiple characters throughout

Extractomatic, a SAAS software product that gathers and delivers the most important data to hospital financial leaders, is a company that has embraced their uniqueness and wanted to stand out in a space that is heavy on technical jargon and appearances and doesn’t have a lot of playfulness and creative meaning within it!

Wellness Posters: Johnston Group, Inc.

Johnston Group, Inc., an insurance provider located in Winnipeg, MB, Canada, was looking to create a series of health and fitness engagement posters to send as email downloads to their network of over 200,000 people.

Nick worked with Matt Johnston, Director of Strategic Initiatives for Health and Wellness, for this project. Matt was both enthusiastic and excited about creating posters that ‘broke the mold’ when it came to ‘how you create health and fitness content’, and Nick loved the fresh attitude that Matt brought.

Each of the three posters were created with a unique and creative twist cooked up by Nick.

•A computer wants to play solitaire which leads to the office worker going outside.

•A busy man carries the burden of work and shifts his relationship in the same pose to discover mindfulness.

•And a group of people who aren’t used to taking the shares fall victim to the crunch of being in a small, square device that takes you up and down. Meanwhile, the one who didn’t, gets good exercise using the stairs.

100 Bucks Ad For Social Media

The 100 Bucks project was a black and white, hand-drawn commission-based initiative created by Nick Navatta. The project relied on only one social media post (the video to the right which can be clicked on for viewing) and was  created specifically for Facebook and Instagram.

While the world shut down in early 2020 due to Covid restrictions, Navatta Studios created a small passion project that offered hand-drawn commissions for an affordable, $100 bucks (that’s dollars for the layman). The project was an experiment in seeing if illustrated media would be successful at a time where people’s attention was heavily online.

The online video ad uses hand-drawn illustration and playful messaging and was a success, gaining many inquires and almost 10 commissions.

Below you can see  several of the illustration commissions that came as a result of using our own illustration prowess for our own project!
