Animated Review and Summary Videos

Nick began creating his own form of animated reviews on YouTube which was discovered by the leadership at Callibrain, Inc., a software company. While employed by Callibrain, Nick created a video of 30+ hand-animated review videos. At the time of their creation, these type of videos were the ‘first of their kind’. They have since went on to garner over 3 million views and help build a channel of  20k+ subscribers.

Below are a few of my favorite review videos created during my time working with Callibrain. If you’re interested in seeing all 30+ reviews, just click on the text below and it will take you to YouTube to see them all!

Video Review for Switch by Chip and Dan heath

The book Switch by Chip and Dan Heath is a book about learning to change behavior when change is hard.

This review ‘stuck’ with our audience because it piggybacked on the  ‘Elephant and The Rider’ visual that was  introduced within the book. We brought that metaphor alive with our simple visual storytelling and character creation.

This review became popular not only online but for offline uses such as internal training within companies of all kinds.

Video Review for 10 Leadership contracts by Dr.Joe Currier

While working with Callibrain Inc., we’d occasionally get inquiries about creating reviews for independent parties.

10 Leadership Contracts by Dr.Joe Currier was one of the authors that came across our channel and wanted a video created in a similar style to our other videos.

His book naturally lent itself to this type of review style, as it was full of several clear and compelling ideas that just needed a little more life to digest them as a whole. This became the only video that we posted alongside all of our other book review content and was very enjoyable to create.

Review for the Power of Habit by Charles Duhigg

This review for the Power of Habit by Charles Duhigg came towards the tail end of creating the Callibrain library, and stood out as one of the more memorable and popular ones too. As the book title says, it’s all about the power of habit and how to build them.

By combining Duhigg’s strait forward and clear ideas with our own characterization and visual storytelling, we were able to create a review that took the viewer on a fun ‘journey of a productive day’ while delivering the powerful ideas of the book.

Additionally, there is some solid understanding about how habits can be built within organizations too. Our review was a quick, fun way to get some big ideas about habit creation to our audience!
